2013 Symposium: "Ceramics and Glass between Tradition and Contemporaneity"

9th edition, October 9-10, 2013, Museum of Art Cluj-Napoca, Tonita Hall

The symposium, organized in partnership with the University of Arts and Design Cluj-Napoca, is an event that creates the frame for theoretical debates, exchanges between universities and actions for informing the public about contemporary ceramic practices. Contemporary artists, professors and managers will be invited to talk on several topics such as: artistic education, advanced art research, arts and crafts relationship, functional ceramics and glass, technologies, restoration and preservation of ceramic and glass objects, etc.

The symposium has the potential to elaborate a cultural policy plan that should promote: A. better reception of artistic products in society; B. adaptations of cultural education in the contemporary context; C. reassertion of contemporary ceramics on a local, national and international level.
