2013 Symposium: "Ceramics and Glass between Tradition and Contemporaneity"
9th edition, October 9-10, 2013, Museum of Art Cluj-Napoca, Tonita Hall
The symposium, organized in partnership with the University of Arts and Design Cluj-Napoca, is an event that creates the frame for theoretical debates, exchanges between universities and actions for informing the public about contemporary ceramic practices. Contemporary artists, professors and managers will be invited to talk on several topics such as: artistic education, advanced art research, arts and crafts relationship, functional ceramics and glass, technologies, restoration and preservation of ceramic and glass objects, etc.
The symposium has the potential to elaborate a cultural policy plan that should promote: A. better reception of artistic products in society; B. adaptations of cultural education in the contemporary context; C. reassertion of contemporary ceramics on a local, national and international level.

The 9th edition of the symposium is organized by Ceramart Foundation in partnership with the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca and the Museum of Art Cluj-Napoca, in connection to the Cluj International Ceramics Biennale 2013.
